Tooth Filling Treatment

Tooth Filling Treatment
  • Your tooth you are potentially about to lose within a very short time because of your advanced tooth decay would continue to serve you normally after a simple dental cleaning and filling treatment (dental restoration. Service period of a tooth would be longer in case the decay has not gone too deep due to early diagnosis. We can see that such restored teeth can serve the patients for 15-20 years.  Therefore, it would be highly beneficial for you to have a dental check-up once in every 6 months.
  • During cleaning of large and deep decays , the cavity is forced to approximate to the dental pulp . This process is quite similar to cutting your fingernails too deeply. Therefore, it is quite natural that your tooth suffers oversensitivity for a few weeks after such a deep restoration. Dental nerve might be required to be removed in case this sensitivity does not heal by itself or even worsen in time. Patients usually do not feel any sensitivity after restoration treatment for fillings not so very deep and/or large.
  • Since full hardening of dental filling material would take a few days, you should not try to crush too hard food with your restored teeth and try to keep up with our recommendations as much as you can.
  • Nowadays, composite based materials (“white fillings”) are generally used as filling material. Research studies indicate that various deformities occur in 85-90% of restorations 4 years after the treatment, regardless of the filling material used.
  • In such cases, replacement of the filling would be required to prevent potential future problems.
  • You should definitely report your complaints to us, which you may have after restoration treatment.
  • As mentioned above, it is totally up to you to use your teeth healthily for long years, by having dental checks in every 6 months, without jeopardizing your teeth’s well being.
